With this in mind, Little Green Nursery has been set up by Della Green, a mum who has spent many years ensuring that she only uses the freshest, natural products and now practices what she preaches on her own children.

Della owes all her passion for the purest beauty products to her grandmother, who was always using ingredients from the fridge and plants from the garden for use on her face. And she hasn’t looked back since.

“I pottered along slapping the contents of my fridge on my skin for years, not really having a proper skin routine as anything I bought resulted in a fine crop of spots and irritated skin.

“When I hit 35, I decided that my slap dash approach could not continue, so I started again with a proper skin care routine with a range that comes highly recommended and is fairly natural. Instead of glowing skin, yet again I erupted and the spots that I had avoided during my teens caught up with me.”

So Della returned to everything she had learnt from her grandmother, went back to basics and her skin healed again.

Her husband Ben has a degree in microbiology which helped Della when researching information for her products and before having children, she worked for King's College in London researching pain perception in Rheumatoid Arthritis.

“My background is psychology with the emphasis on health psychology and in my previous job I gained research skills that have stood me in good stead for researching products,” Della said.

The products she sells on her website are free from Sodium Lauryl Sulphate (SLS) and Sodium Laureth Sulphate (SLES) which are both known skin irritants, and other preservatives which are all too often routinely used in children's products as they are less expensive to use in manufacturing.

“Obviously this method of manufacturing is more time consuming and the products cost more than the bottles you find on the supermarket shelf, but they are all reasonable in price.

“I personally am not prepared to compromise my children's skin and health for the sake of a few pounds,” said Della.

And it’s not just Della who is enthusiastic about kinder skin products.
