» Skin allergies, mucosal allergies,
    and intestinal symptoms.

The most common allergic diseases are: allergic rhinitis (hay fever), allergic asthma, food allergy, drug allergy, insect sting/bite allergies and different skin allergies. The most affected body parts are the nasal, tracheal and intestinal mucous membranes and the skin.

Contact dermatitis is one of the most common skin diseases in adults. It results from the direct contact with an outside substance (e.g. nickel) with the skin. Symptoms that are commonly seen include the following: redness, swelling, blistering, itching, hives and rashes.

Rhinitis caused by an allergic reaction may be seasonal - occurring only at certain times of the year - or perennial - occurring year round. Seasonal allergic rhinitis is also called hay fever. It is an allergic reaction to pollen from trees and grasses. Ragweed pollen is another frequent culprit causing hay fever. This type of rhinitis occurs mainly in the spring and fall, when these pollens from trees, grasses and weeds are in the air. Perennial allergic rhinitis is caused by allergies to substances that are present year round. The chief causes of this type of rhinitis are allergies to dust mites, mold, animal dander and cockroach debris.

Allergic (extrinsic) asthma is characterized by symptoms that are triggered by an allergic reaction. Allergic asthma is airway obstruction and inflammation that is partially reversible with medication. Allergic asthma is the most common form of asthma, affecting over 50% of the asthma sufferers. Many of the symptoms of allergic and non-allergic asthma are the same (coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath or rapid breathing, and chest tightness).

Food, which contain allergens and come into contact with the digestive tract, can also cause serious problems. When the food enters the stomach and then the intestines, nausea, cramping, pain, vomiting and diarrhea may occur. Some serious allergic reactions may lead to vascular lesion and even death.
