Source: http:/ Toronto, ON (PRWEB) 17 August 2006 -- In conjunction with the XVI International AIDS Conference in Toronto, Context Creative has teamed with PhotoSensitive, a volunteer collective of many of Canada’s top photographers, to focus attention on the global AIDS crisis. AIDS: Picture Change is an evocative series of black and white photographs that brings us face to face with the struggles faced by so many people around the world. The exhibit opens Monday August 14 in the Allen Lambert Galleria at BCE Place in Toronto. Context Creative in conjunction with Colour Innovations developed a poster/brochure and a postcard campaign to promote the exhibit. “The photographs are so eloquent on their own. Our objective was to create a simple yet powerful piece that would allow them to shine,” Lionel Gadoury, Creative Director at Context says of the campaign his firm created to showcase the photos. The project began in the spring of 2005 when PhotoSensitive dispatched eight photographers to Kenya, Mozambique, Ethiopia, India, and Cambodia to capture the essence of the struggle with HIV/AIDS. Months later, eight more photographers paralleled their quest here in North America. The 2006 World AIDS Conference brings together global leaders in science, government and community to review the latest research and innovations in prevention, care and treatment and galvanize them to action. More than 20,000 participants are expected to attend, among them Bill and Melinda Gates and Bill Clinton. About PhotoSensitive PhotoSensitive is a non-profit collective of Canada’s top photographers determined to explore how their art can contribute to social justice.
