Denver, CO (PRWEB) August 21, 2006 -- The Yoga Teacher’s Training and Intensive provided by the Denver Institute of Yoga has been a transformational experience for the many students who have completed the course in the past. The program, which is registered with the national Yoga Alliance, is 220 hours of yoga study and practice over five months covering all aspects of yoga.

"Having the opportunity to spend 13 hours per week on my own yoga practice in this setting transformed my physical, mental and spiritual health", said former student Marcy Renton. “I felt fitter and more flexible than ever before, my mind was clearer, and I felt a deeper connection with myself. These feelings have stayed with me in the many months since taking the Yoga Intensive.”

Some students have returned to take the Yoga Intensive a second time. Laura White, a recent two time graduate, said “I didn’t think twice about doing it for a second year and I’ve had an even more fulfilling experience than I anticipated. This has been a rewarding experience in a warm and welcoming environment.”

The Yoga Intensive program covers everything from the history and philosophy of yoga to the many practices such as Pranayama breathing and meditation that are not part of mainstream yoga teaching. There is also an emphasis on anatomy and physiology and how to properly align the body to get the most benefit from each yoga pose.

“If you are thinking of becoming a yoga teacher or if you are wanting to deepen your own practice this is an efficient format offered outside regular work hours,” said program co-creator and teacher Derik Eselius. “You will deepen your own yoga practice and understanding of yoga that will likely have profound implications in all areas of your life.”

The Denver Institute of Yoga was started by Derik Eselius and Brenna Hatami in 2003 to foster the true spirit and tradition of yoga in the Denver community. This is the third time they have provided their Yoga Teacher's Training and Intensive. This year’s program begins on September 21st.
