In research about patient attitudes toward hair transplant procedures, the company recognized that pain was the single greatest reason people did not return for a second procedure. The Pyllo Anesthesia System is a type of local anesthesia utilizing dermaphoretic induction rather than simply anesthesia injections with a needle. No general anesthesia is used. The insight was a collaboration between Samson and leading anesthesiologists. "We knew these procedures could be made to be more comfortable without taking the risk of using systemic sedation or general anesthesia. So, we went to the experts and asked for their help. Together they, and Dr. Anderson, developed this system.
